Sell Excess Power
On-site generators are permitted to sell any excess energy they produce back to the local utility. Depending on the terms under which the utilities buy the power - "net metering" - on-site generation can be a source of additional revenue. In addition, some renewable energy systems can also produce heat, fertilizer, and other commodities that also can be sold. Using on-site renewable energy systems to pull in additional revenue is becoming more common among small businesses, industries, and farms in many different regions of the country.
Similarly, net metering creates an opportunity for on-site generators to "levelize" their energy costs. They do this by using systems designed for this purpose to generate excess energy when local renewable resources, such as solar radiation or wind, are plentiful to counterbalance higher-cost electricity from their utility when the resources are not so plentiful.
Switch is well attuned to the various strategies and opportunities offered by net metering. Our modular systems can be quickly and easily tailored to take full advantage of local condition to meet your economic and energy goals.
