Remote Site Power

Getting power to remote sites distant from existing power lines can be difficult and expensive. The rule of thumb used in the industry is that if a site is a mile or more from the nearest utility line, on-site renewable energy systems typically will be more cost-effective than running a line to connect with the utility system.

In the case of on-site systems powered by fossil fuels, delivering fuel to the site can be quite costly and can be problematic logistically, even impossible at times. Similarly, the regular maintenance and servicing required for such systems becomes doubly burdensome for remote locations. By compassion, most renewable on-site energy systems require no fuel deliveries, are largely maintenance free and are long-lived.

Switch provides on-site renewable energy systems well suited for remote locations, including those with rugged terrain and extreme weather condition. Examples of remote locations where on-site renewable energy systems have performed successfully include new residential developments, water pumping and heating for out buildings on farms, transponders situated on mountain peaks, wilderness cabins, and signs and street lights.
