Clean Energy

Most power plants and generators rely on fossil fuels, making them major sources of pollutants that contaminate our air and water. These pollutants harm both people and the environment. The harm caused by these pollutants to people's health is compounded by ongoing diminishment in their livelihoods and the resulting loss of productivity to the economy.

The vast majority of emissions are concentrated in the densely populated regions of the US. In "non-attainment" areas with bad air pollution, health concerns have forced restrictions on the use of diesel and other fossil fuels.

In addition to the health, productivity and environmental consequences, scientific research has shown that emissions from conventional power plants are also altering our climate in dramatic and unpredictable ways.

On-site renewable energy systems produce little or no pollution. They further reduce pollution by displacing the energy supplied by fossil-fuel burning power plants. In addition, certain types of renewable systems such as biomass and recovered landfill gas systems can prevent or reduce run-off of harmful pollutants into our streams and rivers.

Switch focuses on the use of clean, sustainable energy and packages systems tailored to satisfy local environmental sensitivities or requirements.
